After all of the recent Home news spanning the last couple of months, we understand its only causing you, the reader, to become more anxious in wanting to get your hands on the highly anticipated online social platform.
Chances are, the comment section will be littered with remarks such as, "Hurry up and release it already." We apologize, but this isn't going to contain a release date, just more information to keep you salivating for the hype machine that is PlayStation Home.
The Creative Director and Lead Artist of Home, John Venables, had the following to say on the forthcoming online service:
"From day one we're going to give [users] basic customization, analogous with other games, but we will hopefully be increasing the tools that we give to users over time, to give them more control, maybe to ultimately provide their own content."
One of the things concerning user-generated content that is an obvious issue is the opportunity for people to submit content inappropriate for a younger audience. This is why the Home creators have decided to implement the user-generated content permissions in baby steps.
Creative director, Ron Festejo, understand these concerns and it's refreshing to know Sony acknowledges them, "[F]or PlayStation, and the type of audiences we appeal to, I think there's a certain level of responsibility that we have to ensure that offensive stuff isn't in the universe that we create."
However, this doesn't take away from them realizing how important user-generated content will be to the community, "User-created content is the Holy Grail, with games like LittleBigPlanet that's all about user-created content”, added Festejo.
“That’s going to be an interesting litmus test for us to see the kinds of things generated by users because those guys are also pushing the boundaries in that area."
As more information is released on Home, it does make you want it that much sooner. Regardless, it is comforting to know that Sony is taking the cautionary steps in providing a service that will not only be appropriate but acceptable for users of all ages.
Keep checking back here at PSU.com, as we will be bringing you all of the latest news on Home as it happens.

Home Japanese Trailer
I'm glad they are looking out for the younger gamers, kudos Sony & Mister John Venables. I've seen too much bare butt's in Burnout Paradise Online, and nope, not from the women, unfortunantly.
Gay!
Dont hurry up with the release, dont want it rushed and sh!te.
Would rather it take ages and be the bo!!ocks!
Can't wait for this even more now but agree with frank_magnet. Don't rush to release and spoil it like many other products previously!!
psn id: gingo.... user generated content is the best way to keep things going without updates so i think sony has made the right choice by encouraging this
Should be called Home of Duke Nukem Forever. Yet again 360 got some good new in a price off and we get more whats to come. I think it's on track for July now.
HazdoTT!
Yes supose its possible to do it if i dont remember wrong... cant remember where i heard it but you can do it i think... or the function will come in HOME updates in the future.
All I want to hear is : "PS Home is available to download today".
@ HazdoTT Yes u can do all that plus so much more lol. Really can't wait for this going to b the boss also wid this on the way HOME can only get better.
Limanima, I agree. I wouldn't midn so much if it wasn't for the almost daily HOME news.
I'm done hearing, I want to see, touch and feel dizamit!
home is going to be sweet i wish it would come out already
I Agree, I think sony should take its time to make the product they feel is ready 100% for an intial release! Yes, the wait is gonna suck but it will def. be worth it when sony decides its ready for the users.
I'm sorry but if you call this new news on HOME you are living on a different planet. We have know this DAY ONE, really old stuff. This is typical of recent HOME "news" that lacks any meaningful content. BTW as he said, don't look for this anytime soon.
The first user created content for home will be a t-shirt with a Penis on it. I guarantee it. The first user generated level for LBP will be one where youhave to ride a giant penis... that or Super Mario Bros level 1-1... kinda a toss up. but if it's SMB then the flag pole at the end of the level will be a penis.
pr0n om virtual Bravias FTW
jk jk :p
Most of you that are rushing for Home release are the very same that will criticize Sony for any flaws with this software. Its best that Sony takes all the time it needs so that they are releasing a 100% polished product.
This is Sony winning over respect from the anti-videogame parents out there, anyway I hope they don't rush it 'cause then it might go really bad, hopefully uploading user content will be easy because I might do a few things with Maya
