PixelJunk Monsters Review

Posted on January 26th, 2008 at 13:15 EDT
PixelJunk Monsters is a title that helps strengthen the quality offerings of the PlayStation Network. With an easy to learn experience and a game with unlimited replayability, it comes to no surprise that this title should be looked at as a steal for a measly $7.99. You can barely go see a newly released movie for that kind of cash, why bother when you can spend it like this and get unlimited enjoyment in return for your money.
Pros
  • + Solid co-op play
  • + Beautiful 2D world
  • + Easy learning curve
Cons
  • - No online multiplayer

was playing this agme all last night with my friend in co-op mode. It's so intense and hilariously fun at the same time. HAHAHA It's so funny when you have to dance to upgrade your assets! DANCING FTW!!!

Totally agree. It's highly addictive and surprisingly solid. I would of liked some sort of online play like Co-op but its still a great game and a steal for €4.99. The remote play with the PSP is a great addition too, Sony's going the right way with PSP/PS3 functionality.

This is why I admire the PSN network. It offers way more original games then Xbots arcade.

I'm sure they'll release an expansion for a couple bucks with online play the same way they added online with blast factor in it's expansion.

Yes its a awesome little game. You should mention its onlt $7.99 for a limited time too. I'm thinking it wil be up'ed to $9.99 in a week or so.

Plus please fix your page breaks! Why does the second page only have three words? -_^ Also, it won't let me rate the game!

I agree with svtschmidt, good timely manner of a review. I would hope this trend continues. I haven't downloaded the game yet, but it looks interesting.

I just downloaded this game last night, against my girlfriends wishes.  She likes to play games, but she thought this one looked stoopid.  Needless to say,  after i started a couple rounds, she found herself begging for her turn, hahahaha.  I think this game is very fun.  For the price, it's worth it for sure, even $9.99 is a good deal.  Thanks Sony.

Well i always loved to play those Tower mod games made on Warcraft 3 so i heard this was like that so i d/led the demo.

I really didnt like that you had to collect the money from killing the bad guys. The money should have automatically went to you upon enemy death. I also didnt like how you had to collect those blue gem thingies to upgrade your towers. Also everything was so small i couldnt even tell if the enemies were being hit by my towers.
