A few days ago, we revealed to you a small piece of information from Game Informer detailing that Obsidian is working on a James Bond inspired RPG scheduled to release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Now Obsidian officially steps up and confirms the title while disclosing new details about the game, Alpha Protocol.
The protagonist of the game, Michael Thorton, is said to develop as the story progresses, depending on the decisions made throughout the game. This will give the game the modern RPG feel that titles such as Mass Effect on the Xbox 360 has, where the game develops based around the character’s actions.
Obsidian Entertainment CEO, Feargus Urguhart explains:
"Alpha Protocol blends Obsidian's knack for intricate stories, engrossing characters, and significant character advancement with fast-paced modern combat
"Alpha Protocol embraces everything we enjoy about making RPGs from a fresh perspective. We are confident our talented staff at Obsidian will enable us to deliver this exciting RPG experience."
Sounds like a very intriguing concept, one in which has never been attempted before within the RPG realm. This should turn out to be a successful venture. Alpha Protocol has an expected release date of 2009.

I'm gonna completely ignore this game
yeah i want get it ether not interested
Why is nobody interested in the game? Personally I believe for it to be an interesting concept and look forward to it. At this point, there really is no reason to have negative thoughts of it.
Hopefully better than KOTR 2...
New RPGs need to prove themselves before I pick them up.
lol, u hear almost nothin about it and jus cos it aint ps3 exclusive ur sayin u will pass
I havent played ME yet, so i dont really know what to think of the new dialog system and all that, I bet its nice though.... still i think obsidian did a great job with kotor2!! seriosly, i think kotor2 is better than kotor1... Not so with Neverwinter nights, nwn2 was a big disapointment compared to nwn1
Still im a lot more interested in this then The Agency, but I am most excited about Dragon Age....
who cares
Not really a fan of these kind of Rpg's, didn't like Mass Effect, making your own decisions means that interacting with other characters tends to be less fluid and always seems wrong to me. Don't get me wrong I can see why these game sappeal, the whole moulding the character to your liking but i'd much prefer a more linear rpg with a deeper story. probs wont be buying this game.
