According to Gamesindustry.biz, BAFTA has confirmed that it will not be hosting a Video Games Awards category for this year’s ceremony in an effort to improve the overall process in which games are judged.
The decision comes in light of multiple difficulties at last year’s event, with some titles having been scrutinized before development was complete. One game in particular had been nominated for an award, which in the end failed to see release in the 2007 calendar year.
The BAFTA Video Games Awards will instead return on March 10, 2009, affording the judging panel sufficient time in which to decide on specific titles released over the course of 2008.
Stay tuned.

I don't care much for this type of thing, as the results are biased and fan-based usually, which is usually not accurate to the facts, only accurate to which game is liked the most.
