i never got to play the previous mgs games since i was too young back then, but can anyone fill me in about why i'm seeing 4 snakes? solid, liquid etc? or... something totally different?

I love my PSP.  I feel like this is my reward for being an early adopter and sticking with it at all times.  Oh, and what was up with those 4 Big Boss clones?  Questions, questions...

@3 Bugsy.  If you have a Wii or Gamecube, try to start with the game MGS: Twin Snakes.  It's a PS2/Xbox/Gamecube gen REMAKE of MGS:1.  

Then get the PS2 Metal Gear Solid: Essentials pack, which (for a great $30) gives you the PS1 MGS:1, and the PS2 MGS2: Sons of Liberty and MGS:3 Subsistance (Snake Eater's remake with a 3D camera).

Then play MGS4.  If you get obsessed with the story (you should be by then), for completist sake, get the PSP MGS: Portable Ops, as it is part of the official canon story of MGS.

If you can't do all of this, download the MGS database from the PS Store and read the whole thing.

 LMAO im more hyped for this game then i am for the one coming out for next(current) gen consoles :) even the ps3 version. man this story looks just as confusing as ever lol

I think it's hinting at 4p ad-hoc co-op or something. I really got that impression quite strongly from that part of the trailer. It can't just be other clones in the story as the cloning of Big Boss probably didn't start until after this game in the timeline.

I tried PO but really didn't get into it. This looks much better though. I'd probably rather have had this on PS3/360 than Rising.

Well, this game is 10 Years after Snake Eater and the MGS database from PSN says in 1972 (well before Peacewalker), the cloning starts and BBoss leaves the...oh nevermind.  Spoilers

i saw this trailer, and it's funny at the end!  i'll be getting this game for the psp go. yes i am getting one, this fall alongside with Gran turismo 5, i think the game will be packaged with it.     sony should do a blue/ silver  psp go for GT5.  i can't believe i want fall to come!  MW 2!  is gonna be awesome!

Whoever said they're anticipating this game more than the console game, I AGREE WITH YOU. This looks like classic metal gear whereas Rising will likely be an action heavy, less story driven game (just going by the "lightning bolt action" tag line instead of "tactical espionage action")

The best way to get into the series is to start with MGS 1. Its the original and what set MGS apart from other games because of the story, cut scenes and game play. The graphics are not the best but its worth it.

Who cares.  I just want more of the Metal Gear Universe.  Anyone else surprised that MGS hasn't gone to other media?  I understand why a movie hasn't been made (who'd dare?), but what about an anime or comic (of the non-digital variety)?

Looks AMAZING for a PSP game but I still was hoping this would be a METAL GEAR MSX Remake for PS3. I thought those pics were Gray Fox and Big Boss... well Metal Gear Rising better not dissapoint... I am totally getting this though, for my PSP Go !
