I am officially pissed. Well, at least the game is going to get a little bit more time to have all the kinks worked out, but every time the others were delayed it was only by a week. I think that analyst a while back is right. They are just pushing it into another fiscal so that ALL the sales are reflected, after all they've got a new guy running Take-Two, so he probably doesnt wanna take his chances. Anyways....damnit!

Yea. There's other good games coming out this fall/winter. I'd much rather get a really sick GTA IV in six months then be let down by something I had really high expectations for. I can think of a few other games that could have used a few more months of development time. They know people are still going to buy the game anyways and everyone would be a lot more pissed off if it was buggy/ugly.

Exclusive MS downloadable content confirmed for 2009! I wonder if the delay was due to them not being able to optimize it on the 360, because I've yet to see the PS3 version. I have a feeling the PS3 version is looking great, but you would want to show the lowest form, as to not get expectations too high.

They need to stop announcing game and relies dates until they are absolutely final this is about the 100th game to be delayed and its truly getting ridicules. I don’t even care if the games are good anymore because one decent game is better than no game at all.

thats not true pushing to the limits cause of the 360 the city is smaller with only 15gb of disk space cant do a lot thats why microsoft payed so much for the exter countent

Well, what a surprise. Hey PSU I hope you actually read what I have to say and stick it up Rockstar because they want to create something in Ultimate High Definition but yet the games only going ot be 720p??? What the F. Seriously if your going to make a game that great and I hope it is please make the damn thing full 1080P and push the PS3 hardware to the max because I dont believe for a second you could push a game to the max on a PS3 if its still going to be going onto the XBOX360 at the same crappy 720P. Get real and welcome to the FULL HD world damn it!!!!!!!

A great setback, I hope it's worth the wait.  I have played them all and was looking forward to the new one.

Another words, they are probly having problems w/360 disc space, which one of the developers came out, at the begining of development, and said, " we are have some issues w/ the 360's ver, were having disc space problems, trying ti fit the content on the DVD, 8gig disc". He also said they were having hard drive issues also, you know, the core bundle,w/ no hdd, just a 64mb memory card. I also know for a fact, they are not pushing PS3 hardware to it's limits, it's got way more than that to offer. 360 is probly going to melt, knowing it's crapy hardware design. By the way, 360 is not HD, no HD software, or hardware, they tested it last yr, it displayed under 720p, no joke.

I'm not happy about this but i'd rather they get it right than rush it as disappointment might set in and that is something which should never happen when playing a GTA game!

Well, it's not that bad. We still have Warhawk, LBP and Assassins Creed.

And of course they are not pushing the PS3 hardware to the limits. No way they can do that and keep the 360 version equal. 360 fanboys can shut something up their a**es now, I have always been telling my good friends that 360 hardware will get to it's limit soon but they didn't listen. Now we have several titles with disc limitations. Soon we will have reach limits with 360 CPU and GPU while PS3 will not even have started to work 40% yet.

I kinda thought that the October date was KINDA early for a next-gen GTA.But they won't make "the ultimate high-definition video game experience" as long as MS doesn't incorporate Blu-ray or HD-DVD as their standard disc format or it isn't built exclusively from ground up on ps3.That's my 2 cents

GAYNESS!!.....GTA was never known for pushing a console to its limits, new engine or not. The game is also being made for the 360 at a max of 720p....there is NO WAY that this is pushing the PS3 to its absolute limits, and thats on the grounds of game disc psace, and full hd graphics. Just come clean and tell us all the real reason for the delay.....because a Developer thats not known for pushing consoles to their limits saying that within the early stage of the PS3 release, they are the only ones to push the hardware platform to its absolute limits with a multi-plat game is pure BS!!

Pushing the PS3 to it's limit? i don't think so, if R* had the guts to ditch Microsoft and go exclusive to Sony's PS3 then they could see what the PS3 can really do...but as long as they have to make it within the limit of the Xbox 360 they won't be seeing the PS3's power...no wai!

Well guess 2 day sto Vegas might bring her back know 2 cause know they might feel like the other developers wanted to create a better game which only meant having more time.... GTA will be good probly real good.... but a more in dept version of Crackdown fully online Sandbox game for ps3 would be sick kinda like City of Villains for PC completely make your own super hero good or bad, maybe add a little of Fable's Originality with negative and positive impacts on self and reaction/outlook on environments.... you know AI.... anyway just make Kill Zone 2 REal GOOD and Pro Street

 

Remember, any delay is our gain.  Not that I was planning on buying GTA4, consider the two cases
1) The PS3 version is crap.  This means they're polishing it with only marginal gains on the 360 b/c of no HDD
2) The 360 version is crap.  Then the PS3 version is already good, and any delays could polish the game up more.

may be it will be easy for the ps3 due to the blue ray disk lots of storage cappacity

Can't wait for this. Pisses me off knowing I could've been playing it by now since it was originally going to be released in October this year. :/
