DualShock 3 to hit Europe on May 2?

Apparently PlayStation Only has received word from a "reliable source" that Europe can expect the DualShock 3 to finally hit shelves come May 2. Though this date isn't confirmed officially by Sony, it would still seem to be a very plausible rumor worth taking seriously. With North America receiving the controller in mid-April, it seems fitting that Europe would receive it a couple of weeks later or up to a month.
The DualShock 3 was released with rumble support and the majority of first-party titles currently support that feature while a fair amount of third-party titles do also. With more and more games being released that will provide that experience to the user, it seems as though the importance of releasing this controller as soon as possible would rank higher than it has been. The DS3 has been out in Japan for what seems like forever now and its about time the rest of the world is given the chance to buy one without going through an import website or eBay.
We'll keep you up to date if anything is confirmed around this rumor and the release date of the controller into the European market.

I can't understand why the DS3 can come out in Japan but in the rest of the world at the same time. It's just a controller, it doesn't need translation (just the packaging), it only needs to be in sync with the ps3 and that's it! I live in Puerto Rico, so when the US get's it we get it, and it's unfair that now that a date is finally set for April for the US but Europe get left behind once again! (like in the PSN updates) I hope that "big" announcement that Sony was promising includes a fix to this...here's hoping they start daily updates like in Japan!

I think that it has has taken WAY too long for the Dualshock 3 controllers to come out in the U.S. and Europe. I'm in the U.S. and I imported my Dualshock 3 back in January and I love it, but it shouldn't take nearly half a year for something that's released in Japan to come to the U.S. and the rest of the world. Japan isn't even Sony's biggest gaming market... it would make sense in my opinon to release the Dualshock 3 first in the U.S. & Europe and then release it in Japan last. But really the best thing would have been to release the Dualshock 3 at the same time in ALL territories.

Can't wait for Dual Shock 3! Although I don't live in Europe, I can't help but sympothise with them. I wish that every country whether as big as China or as small as Jubuti would receive items at the same time. For I have a dream...a dream that countries despite importance would receive items at the same time!

It's weird how they take so long to release a controller worldwide. Again, it doesn't need translation other than the packaging and the Japan controller worked worldwide anyway. I imported mine from Play-Asia a long time ago and I know of many others than did the same.

I honestly don't see why Sony couldn't have released them worldwide at once. It's not like the controllers are region coded or anything. If I can't find a steel DS3 then I'll just settle for plain black.

Got mine from ebay brand new, cheaper than the UK about a week after the Jap launch it took just 48 hours for delivery.
The whole issue of delays need to be sorted look at Rock Band still no firm release date in the UK, high velocity bowling no UK release date yet, wow we actually get GT5P a few weeks before the USA but even so 4 MONTHS behind Japan although on BR disc it is still available as a digital download.
Week after week the comparison between the Euro/Uk PSN update and USA update is huge (yes I do have a US Store account but that is not the point)
Now the DS3 is possibly being released in the UK in May weeks after the USA & months after Japan, I can guarrantee that it will cost at least 20% more than anywhere else.

I really hope this is true! I´ve been waiting for the controller along time ago. I´ve only got 1 controller (launch day purchase) and I´ve been waiting for the DUALSHOCK 3 to buy my extra controller.
Also, why do we have to wait so much time for its launch?! Oh.... right.... they need to clear the SIXAXIS stock! : (

Already got 3 Japanese imported DS3's (all three colors), although the Satin Silver looks a bit cheap looking compared to the others. I haven't really used them either, but I really want is the MGS4 Steel color....I hope we'll be able to atleast import those controllers! :)

If someone reads this that has a vast, and I mean vast, knowledge of the mechanics of a game console controller, explain to me WHAT THE H3LL IS TAKING SO LONG!!!!!! ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS CHANGE THE LANGUAGE ON THE PACKAGING (which usually (in Australia anyways) has japanese, dutch etc. languages on there anyways). And also is there any problem with the Playasia.com ones at all?
