Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is coming to America on June 2, according to Kotaku. The Blu-ray movie was released in Japan in April and featured a playable demo of the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII. Unfortunately, the U.S. version, which costs $38.96, will not feature a demo; instead, viewers will get a new trailer.

The U.S. version of Advent Children Complete features the original voice cast, Rachel Leigh Cook and Mena Suvari, an additional 26 minutes of bonus footage, and one thousand new scenes. Extras include a documentary, a new featurette, and a 25-minute original anime short. The short, "On the Way to a Smile - Episode: Denzel," is the story of Denzel before the events of Advent Children.

There are no details about a European release date yet. We'll be sure to keep you updated when we get more information.

    @2... Capcom???

    Anyways, $40 for a blu-ray is pretty scary, even with all of these bonuses (will completely ignore the price I paid for the import).

    No demo? Forget it then. No purchase for me. I Advent Children on DVD already and I've seen it more than once.

    I was going to buy it, even though I never buy blu-ray movies. The demo was going to justify my purchase but seeing as how there's no demo for North America....I'm going to spend my money on something else. Maybe a game. I'm getting inFamous and looks like I'll be buying Prototype now because of this news.

     Amen Satsu66! I will still buy FFvXIII and FFXIII but I am looking towards Level 5 and From Software for all my RPG purchases here after. I used to hang on announcements from Square back in the Soft days and I thoroughly am looking forward to the FF games but they really have slipped as the RPG giant that they once were.

    If they could at least give a short and plain explanation WHY the US version of AC Complete will not feature the FFXIII demo...if there's a plausible reason for not releasing the demo here then maybe so many former SE-Fans wouldn't hate you SE that much now

    @16, what bashing?  I only see people saying they would buy it if it came with the demo; I don't see any bashing going on.

    No Demo, no deal square. It would have been wise to put the demo with the movie.

    @16, your opinion =/= everybody else's. I am not bashing, I am dissappointed. That's my right. I refuse to drink the Kool-Aid. SE games have been a letdown for sometime. Just because you are an apologist does not mean  "STFU" carries any weight. It's called opinion, grow up.

     "one thousand new scenes"?

    Huh?

    And no demo sucks, might look into just importing the japanese version, I'm fine with subtitles.

    • 11:31pm BST - May 13th, 2009

    why would SE release a demo to US or Europe a year and a half before the actual game is supposed to be released? if the main reason why people want the blu-ray is because of a demo than a blu-ray movie is more of a bonus than the demo itself, that's why no demo no sale. what they should do to keep interest is release a second package with the demo or have a download option closer to the release of XIII over here or they should have put the demo on japanese psn store instead of including it with a blu-ray movie so that ACcomplete gets more sales in the long run

    Definatly will be getting this, already have 2 different versions on DVD but will still get this. And my god, FF isnt suited for Demos any way, wtf you people all whining about, buy a great movie in epic qualaty, its not FFXIII Demo with AC included, it was AC with XIII demo included. its like that 360 game that only sold well because it had a halo 3 beta key .... good lord you people are pathetic.

    You guys are idiots if you don't pick this up i imported the first print edition for the demo, and found it had english voice overs for FFVII:ACC seriously the movie is worth it 10x better than the original, better effects and rendering techniques and seriously the bonus features will keep you busy too. I was surprised I prefered ACC better than the FFXIII: demo
